This is a great post, George. The rhetoric around work-life balance has lead many of us to believe that work can't be nourishing and recovery can only happen outside of work. But when work is aligned with our values and souls, it IS nourishing and healing. Yep, sometimes, we need to make adjustments, like when we're sick so we do so. We're kind to ourselves but we don't just let ourselves off the hook completely either. (This is the whole idea behind Compassionate Confidence!)
I also really needed to be reminded of this today: "What if you are profoundly taken care of by a loving higher power, and no “mistake” you make can alter the fact that you have a magnificent destiny?" Thank you!
Using my creative energy (as it is, without waiting for perfection) IS self-care!
